CALL TO ORDER
The March 14,2019 special meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to
order at 6:08 p.m.by Chair Wolfgang Kurtz.
OPENING CEREMONY
Michelle Cobble led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

City Administration Report.Valarie Kingsland said this was Interim City Manager Jeff
Bridges' last week with the City of Seward.

Discuss and plan Annual Report to Council for year 2018.
Kurtz said Libbrecht created the draft Annual Report to Council for 2018 for the commission
to review. In response to Seese,Kurtz said the 2018 report covered September 2017 to August 2018
and the 2019 report would cover September 2018 through December 2019.
The commission reviewed the draft report to Council for 2018 and established a committee
consisting of Kurtz, Libbrecht, and Seese to review the final report to Council for 2018.
Motion (Libbrecht/Seese) Direct the Executive Liaison to create,
compile, and submit the Annual Report to
Council for 2018, barring any objection
from the review committee of Kurtz,
Seese, and Libbrecht.
Motion Passed Unanimous
Review, revise, set deadline, and approve notice to solicit HP Award nominations.
Motion (Seese/Maxwell) Approve the Public Notice to Solicit HP
Award Nominations and the nomination
form with the one possible exception being
the web address change for simpler access.

COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS
Darling thanked Interim City Manager Jeff Bridges,Executive Liaison GeNeil Flaherty,and
Library Museum Director Valarie Kingsland for their efforts.She said one of her goals for 2019 was
to create a Historic Overlay District.
Seese thanked Interim City Manager Jeff Bridges and wished him well.She thanked Library
Museum Director Valarie Kingsland, Assistant City Manager Brennan Hickok, and Executive
Liaison GeNeil Flaherty for their support and patience.
Libbrecht thanked Interim City Manager Jeff Bridges for his support of the commission.
Cobble thanked everyone supporting the new commissioners and helping them through the
learning process.
Kurtz congratulated Interim City Manager Jeff Bridges on his successful tenure at the City of
Seward and wished him luck in his future endeavors.He thanked Interim City Manager Jeff Bridges,
Assistant City Manager Brennan Hickok, Library Museum Director Valarie Kingsland, and
Executive Liaison GeNeil Flaherty for their support.

COMMISSION AND ADMINISTRATION RESPONSE TO CITIZENS'
Bridges appreciated the sentiments and wished the commission success.

Kingsland thanked Interim City Manager Jeff Bridges for his support and guidance,as well as
Executive Liaison GeNeil Flaherty for taking on the commission.
