Seward Historic Preservation Commission

I am writing to let the commission know that I would like to attend the National
Preservation Institute Conference in Tacoma, Washington this summer.
Having served on this commission for several years now I think it behooves not only
myself but also the commission that I attend. Professional training is invaluable and I
hope that I will be honored to attend this conference on your behalf.
In reviewing the topics for seminars, I suggest the commission determine which it
values most and then that will be the one or ones I attend as priority. One of them
that I am particularly interested in is the "Native American Cultural Interests." Our
commission has brought up the need to include our own natives, or at least their
history in and of Seward. So, I think this will be a good one to attend. However, I
leave the seminar attendance priorities to you.
I do want to add a caveat:
Depending on where we're at with the Cornavirus, if it is NOT under control I advise
we wait until a safer time to attend, perhaps next years'. SeaTac airport is a very
contagious hub so I believe we need to choose safety and good health over this year's
conference.
