HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2004-056 Sponsored by: Shealy I CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2004-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH TRYCK NYMAN HAYES, INCORPORATED (TNH) FOR CHANGE #2 TO THE EAST HARBOR EXPANSION, INNER HARBOR PHASE I CONTRACT FOR $30,000 AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, upon presentation for approval of Phase I of the East Harbor Expansion Project, the City Council desired several presentations of information and processes covered during the development of the Small Boat Harbor Planning and Development Guide; and WHEREAS, the information requested involved a compilation of data and processes encompassing over three years of work and two comprehensive studies as well as new data and drawings pertaining to float design and layout; and WHEREAS, this work was requested on a time and materials basis prior to amending the existing contract and is not covered in the tasks of the original contract. I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute Change #2 to the East Harbor Expansion, Inner Harbor Phase I Contract. Section 2. $30,000.00 is appropriated from the harbor grant fund, account number 274-2741-5390 to the Harbor Eastward Expansion Fund, account number 274- 0000-3071-0 to pay for these additional services. Section 3, This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska this 10th day of May, 2004. Beckham Agenda Item: Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement with Tryck Nyman Hayes, Incorporated (TNH) for Change #2 to the East Harbor Expansion, Inner Harbor Phase I Contract for $30,000 and Appropriating Funds BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION: Upon presentation for approval of Phase I of the East Harbor Expansion Project, the City Council desired several presentations of information and processes covered during the development of the Small Boat Harbor Planning and Development Guide. The information requested involved a compilation of data and processes encompassing over three years of work and two comprehensive studies as well as new data and drawings pertaining to float design and lay out. This work was requested on a time and materials basis prior to amending the existing contract and is not covered in the tasks of the original contract. 1. Comprehensive Plan X Economic Development, Small Boat Harbor Development: expand and maximize potential of the existing harbor. Transportation Facilities, Harbors: Continue to support, promote, enhance and develop harbor facilities… 2. Strategic Plan X_ Economic Base ,Improve and Expand Maritime Facilities: complete eastward expansion of the Small Boat Harbor 3. Other: Small Boat Harbor Management Plan X Harbor Development, New Harbor Development and Expansion: …expand the existing harbor… FISCAL NOTE: A $30,000.00 appropriation is required from the General Fund Fund Balance, account number 401- 4360-5390 to the Harbor Eastward Expansion Fund, account number 274-0000-3071-0 to pay for these additional services. Approved by Finance Department RECOMMENDATION: Council approves Resolution 2004-56, authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with TNH for Change #2 to the East Harbor Expansion, Inner Harbor Phase I Contract for $30,000 and Appropriating Funds
