VACATING A PORTION OF MADISON AND MONROE STREETS FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE ALASKA RAILROAD. WHEREAS, the Common Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, has been petitioned by the Alaska Railroad, the owner of the land to be affected, on the 6th day of December, 1955, to vacate a portion of Madison and Monroe Streets, aU lying within the city of Seward, Alaska, for railroad purposes, and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, has caused to be publiched a notice of hearing to be held on this date, all in accordance with the provisions of Chapter III of Chapter 115, Session Laws of Alaska, 1953, and WHEREAS, said hearing having been duly held on this date, the Common Council of the city of Seward, Alaska has determined that the vacating of a portion of Madison and Monroe Streets, as hereinafter describe for railroad purposes is just, and in the interest of the public welfare, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEW AR D. ALASKA: That the following described portions of Madison and Monroe Streets be, and they hereby are, vacated for railroad purposes, to-wit: The East One-hundred Feet (E 100ft.) of Madison Street and the East One-hundred Feet (E 100ft) of Monroe Street, according to the map and plat thereof on file in the office of the Precinct Recorder, Seward Precinct, Territory of Alaska.
