RESOLUTION 2021-001
A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD,ALASKA,IN SUPPORT OF THE CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING THE REZONING OF LOTS 15A AND 15B, JESSE LEE
HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION,ADDITION 4,WITH THE PHYSICAL ADDRESS
OF 101 AND 105 BENSON DRIVE FROM MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
(R3) TO PARK (P)
WHEREAS,on December 1, 2020,the City of Seward Planning and Zoning Commission
approved Resolution 2020-12 supporting this rezoning; and
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2020, Ordinance 2020-015 was introduced by the Seward
City Council to rezone Lots 15A and 15B, Jesse Lee Subdivision, Addition 4 from Multi-Family
Residential (R3)to Park(P); and
WHEREAS,the Historic Preservation Commission believes zoning to Park is in line with
the goals of preserving historically significant lands.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that:
Section 1.The Seward Historical Preservation Commission hereby supports the rezoning of
lots 15A and 15B Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision,Addition 4,with the physical address of 101 and
105 Benson Drive from Multi-family Residential (R3) to Park(P).
Section 2.The Seward Historical Preservation Commission supports the enactment of City
Council Ordinance 2020-015.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of
Seward, Alaska, this 5th day of January, 2021.
