HomeMy WebLinkAbout02052021 Historic Preservation Work Session Laydown - Benoit 210205 HPC WS LAYDOWN - Benoit H PC Work Session-2-5-21 Updates 1. Several new property owners accepted since the last meeting and were ranked and added. 2. Commissioner Ward recommended removing one property. Commissioner Ward recommended removing 309 Second Ave and keeping 202 Second Ave (same owners) to be fair and spread-out signs among owners. I listed 303 in the second wave of funding for now instead of removal. 3. 1 removed Woodlawn Cemetery and put it in round 2 and moving the Library up above the funding line since it is the start of the tour some important to have funding for a sign in the first round. 4. 1 developed this final ranked sign list and a draft resolution to vote on for our Feb 11 meeting. 5.The current assignments based on these recommendations are listed below. Can we spread this work load out a little better? Mary Ann-7 (1 would like to give the Keating house to someone). Sue-7 Tanguy-6 Cheryl-5 Fred-0 6. A timeline was developed (see below). 7. A format was developed for requesting photos (see below). REVIEW NEEDED • OK recommendations of Ward and Benoit to move selected properties to round 2? • OK with Sub-ranking of 6 properties with score of 13 around funding line. • Draft Resolution with this list to vote on at Feb 11 meeting • Assignments-Can we adjust these to be more balanced? • Review Timeline-Can everyone meet this? Private Property City Property Funding Line Research and Photo Needs • As you are doing research, consider you may need 4-5 pictures at 300 dpi for your sign. • You may be able to get photos you can take high quality pictures of or scan from the owners. • If you see a photo in a research book, note the photo credit (number, collection, who has it etc., and the book it came from and page number). • You can see what photos are available online also at the Seward Community Library Association website at https://www.friendsofsclm.org/historic-photos-art-and-archives. When you find one, note the photo number and collection, date, who took it etc. so we can request it and credit it on the sign. There are more available that are not online, so if you see it in a book credited to Seward Community Library Association but can't find it, if you note where you saw it with a good description, we can ask about it. • Mary Ann will submit photo request forms for what you need to Resurrection Bay Historical Society and the Seward Community Library Association. Please submit your photo needs info in our working spreadsheet on the photo requests tab.
