HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1960-166 r-- RESOLUTION NO. 166 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MONTHLY RATES FOR WATER SERVICE UNDER THE TERMS OF SECTION 13.2 (a) OF THE HOME RULE CHARTER AND SECTION 3(c) OF ORDINANCE NO. 252. WHEREAS On April 11, 1960, the Common Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, reduced a monthly water rate increase of seventy-five (75%), which was established January II, 1960 by Ordinance No. 291, to an increase of sixty-five per cent (65%) effective April 1, 1960, and to be reviewed in one hundred twenty (120) days in the light of engineering advice and possible rate study, and WHEREAS A rate study has been conducted by Mr. Ray James, Registered Engineer and City employee, with recommendation that the water rate increase be reduced to a thirty-five per cent (35%) increase effective August I, 1960. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby resolved that as of August I, 1960 monthly water rates shall be as follows: DO~STTC - Applicable to residence or domestic service within the City limits of Seward, Alaska: Single residence . Duplex in one building ed as two residences . (See vessels at docks) " " BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all bills for water service shall be due and payable on or before the 15th day of the month following the month in which such services were rendered. Failure to pay current bill ins by the 15th day of the month following, as aforesaid, shall cause the consumer's account to become delinquent and thereupon a delinquent penalty in the amount of 10% of the total billing shall be imposed and collected. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and the rules governing the inances and resolutions are hereby suspended and this Resolution is hereby effect upon its passage and approval.
