HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd2022-002 - Light Manufacturing Definition Sponsored by: Planning and Zoning Commission Introduction: January 10, 2022 Public Hearing: January 24, 2022 Enactment: January 24, 2022 CITY OF SEWARD,ALASKA ORDINANCE 2022-002 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE 15.10.140 DEFINITIONS,M MANUFACTURING LIGHT AND AMENDING 15.10.226 LAND USES ALLOWED TABLE; ALLOWING LIGHT MANUFACTURING IN A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT WITH A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT WHEREAS,the City Council passed a motion on February 22,2021 to direct the Planning and Zoning Commission to review making a change to the Land Use Table to allow Light Manufacturing in the Central Business District; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public work session on November 16, 2021 to discuss allowing Light Manufacturing in a Central Business District; and WHEREAS,the Planning and Zoning Commission wishes to respond to the concerns and requests of the public and promote community and economic growth. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that: Section 1. Seward City Code Sub section 15.10.140 M is hereby amended to read as follows: (Deletions=Bold Strileughs; Additions = Bold Italics.) 15.10.140 Definitions. (53) Manufacturing, light. A use engaged in the manufacture, predominantly from previously prepared material,of finished products or parts that,because of the nature of its equipments operations,processes, materials, and products, has little or no potential of creating noise, vibration,dust,smoke,fumes,odor,glare,or other environmental impacts on surrounding properties or uses. , pfeeessint Section 2.
