Discuss, approve Revised CLG Grant 20005 list of original 25 Properties. Discuss and revise annual priority list for approval in 2021 & Review, discuss, approve, and plan 2020 Annual Report to Council. February Extend Public Notice of Historic Award Nominations to April. CLG Historic Narrative Signs: Begin work on writing the narrative for each respective CLG Historic Sign. Give Annual Report and 2021 Priorities Report to Council. March Continue writing narratives for CLG signs. Begin edits of narratives. Direct staff to post Seward's Day Proclamation. Discuss CLG celebration. Submit 2020 CLG Annual Report to Alaska Historical Commission. April Choose Historic Award Nominations. Discuss events for National Historic Preservation Month. Submit sign narratives to sign company. May Award local Historic Awards (Council). Attend award ceremony. Approve final sign narratives. Order signs and posts. Plant flowers in Hoben Park Flower maintenance and hand -watering at Hoben Park. Cut lilac shoots from historic plants and root them and prepare to plant at Hoben Park. June Begin receiving CLG signs. Posts delayed. Create Historic Walking Tour Website. CLG Celebration cake and showing of Historic Signs Video with Council & public. Flower maintenance and hand -watering at Hoben Park. Plant historic lilac shoots at Hoben Park; transplants died. Plan to plant more in 2022. JULY No meeting — Hiatus Flower maintenance and hand -watering at Hoben Park. August Founder's Day Proclamation. Continue work on CLG signs. Submit Historic Inventory list to the offices of History and Archeology. Flower maintenance and hand -watering at Hoben Park. September New member, Dona Walker, joined the HP Commission. Begin to add information gained during sign narrative process to Historic Inventory list. CLG signs and posts completed. Began work on Standards and Guidelines Addendum to Chapter eight of the 2017 Seward Historic Preservation Plan. Historic Walking Tour map completed, added to website, printed and distributed to local businesses and organizations. Presentation to Seward Rotary Club on the Historic Walking Tour- Summary and Partnership Opportunities. October Continue work on Standards and Guidelines. Schedule work session for final edit work on January 20, 2022. CLG Signs mounted on commercial buildings with the exception of three that needed to be trimmed to fit the frames. HPC did public presentations and led 2 days of Historic Walking Tours for the Seward Wellness Week at the invitation of the Seward Prevention Coalition. November New member, Art McMaster, joined the HP Commission. Began working on Historic District Boundary. Request staff provide printed copy of 2017 Seward Historic Preservation Plan to each Commissioner. Presentation to Seward Rotary Club on Seward's History based on the Historic Walking Tour. December Prefer to give one oral report annually to Council and three written reports. Review 2020 Annual Review and 2022 Priorities List. Continue work on Historic District Boundary, focusing on the Historic Business District. Began to define Land Use in the historic business district. Staff was directed to put forth Public Notice to solicit Historic Award Nominations in January 2022. Decision made on the Historic Commercial Business District Boundary (no changes to existing boundary).
