With the housing shortage that the community is struggling with, these spots may need to be used for city employees. In addition, with each spot that is provided to any organization, the city loses revenue on the full value of that camp spot. The Alaska Sea Life Center has requested permission to have four volunteer camp spots on a portion of their own property adjacent to the current Iditarod Campground. This resolution gives the City Manager the formal ability to give that permission by waiving the provisions in City Code.
