THE Al. ASKA RAIL ROAD'S MISSION -- Through excellent rur tamer service and Sound business
management practices, provide sute, efficient, and ecutwinicul ttunsputtutiun utid teul estate
services that support and grow economic development opportunities for the State of Alaska.
Vessel and Passenger Traffic
• Vessel log entries at the Alaska Railroad docks —134 non -cruise vessels docked duringthe
first eight months of the year. These vessels included normal freight trade, some vessel
storage with repairs, the Sikuliaq research vessel, USCG Healy and regular fuel deliveries.
Vessel traffic has been concentrated on summer barges including those serving Western
Alaska projects.
• We had substantial freight train traffic this summer including pipe and proppant bound
for the North Slope.
• The 2022 Coastal Classic train schedule ends September 18.
• This year we scheduled 74 cruise ship dockings at our Seward terminal. The last ship of
the season is September 30.
Other Items
• The 2023 Cruise Season currently includes 94 ships, with three ships in port on July 28 and
September S.
• ARRC will share information on our Cruise Dock replacement project as plans are finalized
— currently a 65 percent plan proposal is under in-house review. Construction is slated to
begin at the end of the 2023 cruise ship season.
• ARRC staff will attend the Alaska Association of Harbormasters and Port Administrators
conference in Nome on September 27-29.
