Not much has changed on the net metering front. Last time I asked Patrick, we had only added a few
solar customers this summer. Remember, last year we added 12 interconnect customers to the
system.
The priority now is getting our billing software updated so that we can properly bill those customers
who produce more power than they buy during a month. Right now, Jeremy is having to handle
those bills manually. He continues to work with Harris on a solution, which may require upgrades.
And yes, we can invite those net metering customers to speak at PACAB on Sept. 21.
Jeremy/Patrick, feel free to weigh in if there is something more to add.

PACAB has asked for a couple things from the electric utility:
1. Can you send me a quick recap of the status of the net metering?
2. PACAB is meeting to talk about renewable energy during their 9/21 work session. Can we email all
net metering participants to let them know PACAB wants to hear from them about their experience.

Section 14.15.415 Interconnection Requirements. Please Note: This is an application only; permission to interconnect is not

Section 3 — Certification
The interconnection protection system is tested and listed for compliance with the published edition of Underwriters
Laboratories (UL) 1741 including the anti-islanding test. The system (is / will be) installed in compliance with IEEE 929
and or IEEE 1547 as applicable, all manufacturer specification, the National Electric Code and all local codes. No
protection settings affecting anti-islanding have been or will be adjusted or modified.
I hereby certify that, to my best knowledge, all information provided in this application is true and correct and the
proposed alternative power source will comply with the Interconnection Standard stated above.

When it comes to using energy, people today are more educated than ever on the topic.
That's why they want options —renewable energy solutions that may make sense for them
in their homes or businesses. A few of the more popular renewable energy sources include
solar, wind and hydro.
To make the process of interconnecting to our electric distribution system as easy as
possible, we ask that you follow these simple steps:
— Find a licensed, bonded and insured electrician to help plan your renewable
energy home or business installation. Once done, complete Seward Electric's
interconnection application.
STEP 2 - Submit your completed application along with your electrician's one -line drawing
of the planned installation to Seward Electric at renewableinterconnect@cityofseward.net.
Or deliver the application to the Seward Electric office at 410 Adams Street in Seward.
Timeline: Our team will work to notify you within two weeks of submitting your application.
However, please note that we may contact you during our review regarding additional
modifications that may be required for your installation. If modifications are necessary, you
may incur additional costs or the project could be delayed. In some instances, a new
application may need to be submitted with the approved revised design.
STEP 3 — Once your installation is ready, schedule a final site inspection with Seward Electric
for safety and code compliance.
After the site inspection is completed and approved, Seward Electric's Interconnection
Agreement must be signed. We will keep the signed agreement on file at our Adams Street
office.
STEP 4 — Within three weeks after the site inspection approval, a new bidirectional meter
will be installed at your site.
Timeline: Once you contact us letting us know your installation is complete, our team will
schedule a site visit within two weeks. During the inspection, we may determine that
modifications are required. If modifications are necessary, you or your installer will need to
send photographs of the changes to Seward Electric before another site visit is scheduled.
If renewable energy is something you're considering for your home or business, we urge
you to do your homework. An informed decision is usually a good decision.
