P.ESOLUTION NO. 388
mmn.BAS immediately following the disaster on ilarch 27, 1964,
the United States Arrrry. Alaska. under the command of Hajor General Ned
D. iloore, did everything with both personnel and equipment to assist
the citizens of Seward; and
HHEREAS this assistance continued through the entire period
immediately following the disaster; and
rnmr~ Major General Ned D. Moore did personally intercede
with civic and Governmental agencies on behalf of the City of Se"1ard; and
rnlErJ&AS the United States Army. Alaska, through the Seward
Recreation Center. has reestablished its recreation center in Seward,
thus making it Seward's largest industry for the summer of 1964;
NOt-!, TlIEREIIOr-E. DE IT P.ESOLVED that this resolution of
appreciation be enacted and presented to the said Major General Ned D.
iwore. for himself and for the members of his command, signifying the
deep feeling of respect and sincere admiration the citizens of Seward
and this City Council have for their interest and assistance.
It is directed that a copy of this Resolution Le placed with
the Secretary of the Army, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces
of the United States. and appropriate neus media.
