S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, Corps of Engineers, available for flood control for this area; and rITiEr&AS, the flooding of this area is caused directly by the earthquake and subsidence of the earth due to the ~~rch 2;~h disaster; NOE, TliEP&FOP&, I;E IT IillSOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Se~1ard that the U. S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, Corps of Engineers, are hereby formally requested to immediately institute flood control pro- cedures in the aforementioned Resurrection River and Clear Creek bottom areas, to protect the property, both public and private, that ~lould be damaged by increased and continued high water. NOH, TliEP&FOr&, :DE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Office of Emergency Planning be advised that in the opinion of the Seward City Council, this is a project applicable under Public Law 875 and application for such funds is herewith made.
