RESOLUTION NO. 459
WHEREAS, '!HE CITY OF SEWARD entered into a contract on
February 5, 1964 with Rogers Construction Co. and Babler Bros.
for paving to be completed prior to July 1, 1964; and
WHEREAS, the March 27, 1964 disaster delayed the project; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor experienced a wage increase July 1, 196~
and an additional:wage increase on July l; 1965-amounting to a
'total of twelve and one-half (12-1/2%) per cent; and
WHEREAS, it was therefore necessary for The City of Seward to
enter into negotiations for the Contractor's increased costs
in accordance with the contract; and
WHEREAS, the negotiations are for both The City of Seward and
Urban Renewal paving construction costs;
NCM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: The City of Seward
agrees to the following negotiated prices for APW-Alaslca-26-G,
Street Improvements and Paving Project:
Item No.2, Leveling course, increased from Seven and 50/100
($7.50) Dollars per ton to Eight ($8.00 ) Dollars
per ton;
Item No.3, Aggregate bituminous surface course, increased
from Thirteen and 50/100 ($13.50) Dollars per
ton to Fourteen and 75/loo ($14.75) Dollars
per ton;
Item No.4, Bituminous material, increased from One Hundred
($100.00) Dollars per ton t~e Hundred

All other items are to remain as set forth in the unit price
schedule in the contract documents. All other terms and
conditions of the contract are to remain unchanged.
The completion date for all work to be performed under this

contract is now established as November 15, 1965.
Upon written approval of the foregoing changes by Housing
and Home Finance Agency, the City Manager and City Clerk
are instructed to execute and deliver a supplemental agreement
containing said changes.
This Resolution to be in full force and effect immediately
upon passage and approval. Passed and approved by The Common
Council of The City of Seward, Alaska, this 4th day of
August, 1965.
