A~uka stllte Housing Authority tor Urban
P1arIrl1ng ASeia1:Ar1ce.
WHEREAS, the Seward, Alaska, City Council desires to prtrrlde tor a p~
ning et.uQ' contributing to an owr-all program for fUture o......,..Uy de've1op-
ment, the preservation of cClllllUnity values, the prevention ot conditions
tending to cause urbal1 blight. and th. p1'QlllOtion of the general health, safety
and welfare of its citbena; and
WHEREAS, the Alaska state Houeing Authority, under authority of Alaska
statutes 18:55.970 et seq., JII8.7 proVide pl.anning a88ilJtance tor such a program
and receive tirlancial aaaietance fran the Urban Renewa1 and Adminiatration, as
authorized by Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954 (Public Laws, 83rd
~). a.a amended;
NC7tJ THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Seward, Alaska, CUT ~JocrebT

under the above authority.
BE IT FUR'lHER IlESOLVED:
1. That the Seward Cit'T Council, subject to approval b7 the State and
Federal autborW.e., b6..C>) authorl.... ~t. to the Alaalca State Houeing
Authority of a sum of $3,000.00 in cash and $2,000.00 in services, the tot.al
estimated cost ot the project as planned being $20,000.00 with $5,000.00
being the City's share and $15,000.00 being the non-city share;
2. '!bat the City Manager and the City Clerk ot The City of Seward be,
and they are hereb,. aut.horised andempowered to execute in the name of '!he City
of Seward al~ necea8&17 contracts e.d agreementa to impllllll8ftt aDd carI7 out
the purpose. specified in this Resolution.
