WHEREAS. It appeara that certain street or streets in the City
of Seward form nece.aary or convenient linka for carrying Alaaka Route 31
tbrouah said City. &ad
WBERIAS. it ls mutually de. ired by the City Councl1 of the City
cf Seward and the Department of H1gbway. tbat said street or .treet. be
declared << part of Alaska Route 31. and
WHEREAS. The Department of H1&hways proposed to improve said
8tr~et or streets. and
wtmllUS. the City Council d..ir.. tbat said Department of Highwaya
cause such improvements to be made and in order to induce the Department
of Highways to make such improvements, this Resolution is passed a. follows:
BE IT RESOLVED by this City Council of the City of Seward.
Third Judicial District. State of Alaska. that we do bereby
declare as part of Alaska Route 31 aU of tbose streets which
form the aligament for Alaska Project BR-AO 28(1) to be
declared as Alaska Route 31 through the City of Seward,
Aluka.
BE IT FURTBEl. USOLVED (1) All ex1aUng encroachments
above or below ground within the pr..ent right of way
that are affected by the construction of this project will
be removed or adjusted off tbe said present right of way in
a reasonable length of ti.me. by tbe City of Seward. at no
coat t.o the State of Alaska. Tb1a work to be accompUshed
in 8ucb a aanaer as not to interfere with the State"s
Contractor.s work schedule as filed with the project Engineer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council of the City
of Seward agree. not to authorize or permit the iostallation
of signs. semaphore. or signals which wll1 give any inter-
secting street or streets a status outranking the Al..ka
Route 31 so declared; DOt to authorize or permit any con-
struction or encroachment within the right of wuy as sbown
on the Uaht of Way aap d..ipated Alaska Project D-AO 28(1)
on file in the office of the Comaissioner of Highways in
Juneau, Alaaka; not to ..tablbb any curbl1ne. or cause or
permit any curbing to be constructed cn the hlghway witb
curb11nes le.s than tbe dimens10ns as shown on the typical
.ection of the find plana em flb 1n the office of the
Commis.ioner of Highways. Juneau, AlAlk~. or by first
secu~in& the written approval of the Commjsloner of Hiihwaya;
