RESOLUTION NO. 497
~mEREAS, the Seward Airport at Seward, Alaska is without much
needed paving and lighting, and The City of Seward does not have
finances to provide the same; and
vffiEREAS, said Seward Airport is owned by the State of Alaska:
and
vmEREAS, increased traffic at and use of said Seward Airport
by commercial, private and charter planes makes it necessary that
proper paving and electric lighting be provided at said Airport as
soon as possible; and
~mEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Public Works,
Division of Aviation is in a position to provide such required
facilities; and
~rnEREAS, a modern, well-equipped airport is essential to the
economy of any area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that immediate request shall
be made to the STATE OF ALASKA, DEPARTf1ENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, DIVISION
OF AVIATION that proper paving and electric lighting be provided
for SEvlARD AIRPORT, SE~1ARD, ALASKA, at the earliest possible time.
This Resolution to be effective on the date of its passage
and approval.
