RESOLUTION NO. ~93
vJHEREAS, much of Third Avenue in Seward, Ala.ska is without proper
curbs, gutters and drainage~ and
~JHEREAS, people residing in areas alongside that portion 02 Third
Avenue do not have proper access to their homes, and GZisting open
drainage ditches are responsible for this condition~ and
vffiEREAS, Third Avenue in The City of Seward was built and is main-
tained by the State of Alaska, Department of Highways, as a public State
Highway~ and
~mEREAS, it is anticipated that the said Third Avenue paving will
be extended and repaired by the State OJ:: Alaska during the su..rnmer of
1966, and it is important that the needed curbs, gutters and drainage be
installed before said Highway construction program gets under way~ and
lVHEREAS, such curbs, gutters and drainage were agreed to by the
State and were scheduled to be done, but have been delayed and postponed
due to the earthquake of rIarch, 1961~
NOt"r, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the STATE OF ALASKA, DEPARTflENT
OF HIGffivAYS be requested immediately to install curbs, gutters and
drainage on all of Third Avenue in The City of Seward, Alaska, which
does not now have proper curbs, gutters and drainage, and that such
installation be made prior to the presently proposed construction program
on said Third Avenue.
This Resolution to be effective on the date of its passage and
approval.
