HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1966-519A I THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 519A WHEREAS, the Caines Head area on the western shore of Resurrection Bay is ideally suited for extensive develop- ment of marine oriented park and recreational facilities; and IlliEREAS, remnants of occupation as a military outpost, including a wharf and roadways, could be refurbished and used; and WHEREAS, additional park and recreational facilities are urgently needed in the Resurrection Bay area; and liliEREAS, complimentary development of private recreational facilities on Caines Head would enhance the development of a State Park on Caines Head; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of lands, be re- quested to reserve a suitable area of land on Caines Head as a State Park; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Lands, be requested to open an area of land on Caines Head suitable for private develop- ment related to or complimentary to such State Park. This Resolution to be effective on the date of passage and approval. Passed and approved by the City Council of The City of Seward, Alaska, this 18th day of April, 1966.
