~EREAS, the City of Seward wishes to maintain its eligibilty for grants
and loans under Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965,
PL 89-136, 89th Congress, 8.1648; and
WHEREAS, said Act, by its Section 101(a) (1) (C), requires an approved
Overall Economic Development Program for the area in which any project
is to be undertaken; and
WHEREAS, Electrion Districts 9 and 10, comprising the entire Kenai Penin-
sula Borough have been named an Economic Redevelopment District and said
District has been found eligible under said Act; and
WHEREASs The City of Seward, as an Area Redevelopment District under
the ARA, succeeded by the aforementioned Act, has an approved Over-
all Economic Development Plan which Plan is being updated for incor-
poration in the KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH OVERALL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
PLAN; and
WHEREAS, those present at a meeting on March 12, 1966 in Soldotna,
Alaska for the furtherance of this matter and with approval of the
Economic Development Administration determined that the commissions
to prepare said Plan shall be named by City Councils and areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following persons be and are
hereby named to represent The City of Seward Council on the Kenai
Peninsula Borough Development Commission with duties as set forth in
the aforementioned Act, and to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and
City Counci~:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Assembly be hereby advised of
the intent of the Seward~ City Council to name th~ee additional persons

Continued
from the Moose Pass-Cooper Landing area to serve on said Development
Commission, and this group is not limited to those persons above
named.
This Resolution shall be effective on the date o~ passage and approval.
Passed and approved by the City Council of The City o~ Seward,
Alaska, this 20th day of June, 1966.
