RESOLUTION NO. 543
RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
MODIFY NOTICE REQUIREMENTS OF AS 18.55.540(b) FOR ALL
DISPOSITION LANDS IN THE R-21 SEWARD URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT
WHEREAS, AS 18.55.540(b) provideR in part that: liThe authority may accept the
redevelopment contract proposal it considers in the public interest and in
turtheran~ of the purposes of 99480---960 of this chapter, provided that the
tuthority has given to the governing body at least 30 days written notice of
~ts intent to acoept the redevelopment contract proposal. Thereafter the
l1-uthority may execute a redevelopment contract in accordance with the pro-.
visions of (a) of this section and deliver deeds, leases and other instruments
and take all steps necessary to effectuate the redevelopment contract"; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward desires to waive said 30 day notice requirement
with respect to all disposition lands situated in the R-21 Seward Urban
~enewal Project, provided at least 10 days notice be given to the City; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of Th& City of Seward to permit this waiver
~n order than an expeditious land disposition program may be carried out in
the R-2i project.
~OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of The City of Seward, Alaslat,
that the 30 day notice requirement of AS 18.55.540(b) is hereby waived for all
9isposition lands situated in the R-21 Seward Urban Renewal Project Provided
That: The Alaska State Housing Authority gives at least 10 days notice to
t-he ntt,y ot its intent to accept any redevelopment contract proposal.
