THE CITY OF SEWARD
RESOLUTION NO. 590
BE IT RESOLVED that approval and confirmation of the terms and
conditions set forth in letter dated April 8, 1966 by The City of
Seward to The Alaska Railroad and the Railroad's reply dated
December 9, 1966 modifying and further delineating the terms and
procedures for the disposition, acquiring and exchange of those
certain lands, property and benefits described in said letters,
be granted, providing all of the said lands and property requested
by The City of Seward are successfully transferred to The City
except:
(1) The City will withdraw its request for a road across
the present Alaska Railroad dock and will instead ask for
The Railroad's continuing support to the greatest possible
extent to secure construction of a road giving access to
the City's tidelands and the adjacent uplands directly East
of the present dock facility by the appropriate State
authority~ and
(2) The City will withdraw its request for such portion of
the power plant as The Railroad needs for its own purposes
and reiterates request to receive any portion not needed by
The Railroad for its own use.
This Resolution shall be effective on the date of passage and
approval. Passed and approved by the City Council of The City of
Seward, this 19th day of December, 1966.
