RESOLUTION NO. 627
WHEREAS, our American Flag is the standard around which a free
people struggled to found a great nation: and
WHEREAS, June 14 is the anniversary of that day in 1771 when
the Continental Conqress of the United states of America formally
adopt.ed the Stars and Stripes as the National Flag: and
WHEREAS, our American Flag is revered as a symbol of a way
of life devoted to the principles of liberty and justice for all,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that June 14, 1967 shall be
commemorated as Flag Day in The City of Seward and that. all
patriotic citizens of Seward are request.ed t.o participate in
pUblic and private ceremonies: and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the people of Seward refleot
their many blessings, support the cause of freedom, and repledqe
their honor and loyalty by displaying our American Flag where-
ever possible on this special day.
