RESOLUTION NO. 633
WHEREAS, students of William H. Seward Elementary School and
Seward High School participated in the Kenai peninsula Science
Fair on March 11, 1967 at Kenair and
WHEREAS, the Seward Elementary School entries took six first
place, eleven second place, three third place, and six fourth
place ribbons, including four "Best at Fair" Awards won by
Tom Gillespie, Dale Gillespie, Ben Faust, and Melissa Fylesr and
WHEREAS, the Seward High School entries took four first place,
two second place, and one third place ribbons, including a
"Best at Fair" Award won by Dennis Deck~ and
WHEREAS, some of these projects were entered in the Ancho~age
Science Fair on March 31, 1967 and took awards including a
commendation from the American Cancer Society to Tom Gillespie
and the NASA Award, the Army Certificate, and the Navy Certifi-
cate won by Dennis Deckr
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of The
City of Seward hereby commends the boys and girls who partici-
pated in this exemplary program and their advisors, Richard
Rast and Weir H. Bell, for their outstanding achievements in
the field of science and their excellent representation at
both the Kenai and Anchorage Science Fairs.
This Resolution to be effective on date of passage and approval.
Passed and approved by the City Council of The City of Seward,
Alaska, this 15th day of May, 1967.
