THE CITY OF SEWARO
RESOLUTI ON HO. 760
WHEREAS. the fire at Seward High School on September 11. 1969. proves the
need for increaseo vigilance against hazardous building materials in our
public buildings. and
~JHEREAS. this incident should be taken as an example of the need for increased
inspection requirements,
iim~. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of The City of Seward. -<
Alaska. respectfully petitions the Assembly of the Kenai Peninsula Borough
to create the office of Borough Fire Marshal and to fill such office on a
retainer basis and to give that office power to eradicate all fire hazards
in all public buildings within the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
This Resolution shall be effective upon the date of passage and approval.
Passed and approved by the City Council of The City of Seward. Alaska. this
twenty-second d~ of September. 1969.
