HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1969-769 " CITY OF SE~VARD RES0U11 ION NO. 769 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY WHEREAS, the CITY OF SEHARD is the mmer of the following described leal property within the CITY OF SEWARD: All Lot Ten (10) of the ~roposed Seward Small Boat Harbor Industrial Subdivision. Seward Recording District. Seward, Alaska. WHEREAS, the Ordinances of the CIT'f OF SEWARD provide for the sale or other disposition of real prope~ty owned by . the CITY OF SEWARD. which is not dedicated to any public use. and the subject property is not dedicated to any public use. and WHEREAS. the Ordinances provide that the Council may, by motion passed. find that the public interest will not be served by lease of said subject property either by auction or sealed bid, and WHEREAS. Council has determined that the public interest will not be served by public lease but that the public interest will be served by a negotiated lease of the property to SEWARD FISHERIES, INC., and , WHEREAS, the Ordinances of the CITY OF SEWARD provide that Council may authorize the City Manager to negotiate a lease of real property by Resolution duly enacted. NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA: Section 1. That it is in the public interest to lease the parcel of real property herein described to SEWARD FISHERIES, INC.; all provisions with reference to public advertisement for lease of the property are hereby declared to be not in the public interest. Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to negotiate the lease of said parcel in accordance with the Ordinances of the City of Seward and the Lessee's proposal dated the 2 day of OCT 1969, providing for lease of the property for one (1) year at one cents per square foot with an optibn for an additional nine (9) years for three cents per square foot for each year thereafter starting December 31, 1970, and to do all things necessary to consummate said lease and the proper city officials are authorized and directed to execute the lease. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be filed and pub- ' lished as in the case of Resolutions for public sale of property and the lease shall not be executed until said Resolution has been on file in the office of the Clerk for thirty (30) days.
