CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 96-16
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE SEWARD CITY CODE
TABLE 15.10.225, LAND USES ALLOWED
WHEREAS, ongoing review and amendments to the Seward Zoning Code are necessary to
address the changing conditions of the community and to provide consistently accurate information
to city officials, staff and the public; and
WHEREAS, in response to a business proposal requesting that a Multi-family area be
redesignated as Commercial, the City Council has asked for a recommendation from the Planning
and Zoning Commission; and
WHEREAS, upon hearing presentations, public testimony and discussion, the Planning
Commission considers the requested commercial rezoning to be spot zoning and does not find in
favor of the request; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission does find that the proposed project has merit and
recommends that the Zoning Code Table 15.10.225, Land Uses Allowed, be amended to allow the
proposed hotel use by conditional use permit within the current zone;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Seward City Code Title 15, Planning and Land Use Regulations, is hereby
amended by adding the following uses to Table 15.10.225, Land Uses Allowed:

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
