THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA

RESOLUTION NO. 807
WHEREAS, the Civil Air Patrol has demonstrated its service to
the City of Seward, Alaska, on a continuing basis, and
WHEREAS, Leonard Gilliland, prior to his death, was an active
and prominent supporter of the Civil Air Patrol and the City
of Seward, and
~mEREAS, the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, wishes
to pay tribute to the memory of this flier and recognize the
local efforts of the Civil Air Patrol,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the State of Alaska,
Department of Public Works, is officially reouested to change
the name of the Seward Airport to "LEONARD GILLILAND AIRPORT"
and in so doing join with this tribute to his memory.
Passed and approved by the. City Council of the City of Seward,
Alaska, this
day of November, 1970.
