RESOLUTION NO. 817
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE
OF A TEMPORARY USE PERMIT
WHEREAS, the City of Seward 18 the owner of the
following described property:
A building loeated on the SOuthwe.t corner
of Fourth and Armstrong AveaQ.. 1h the City
of Seward, Alaaka, eommonlY kMwn as the old
Alaska Railroad Carpenter ShOp.
WHEREAS, the ordinances of the City of Seward provide
for the sale. lease or other disposition of real propert, owned
by the City of Seward, which 1s not dedicated to any publie Gae,
and the sUbject property is not dedicated to any pUblic use, and
WHEREAS, the ordinances provide that the Council may.
by motion passed, find that the public intere~t will not be
served by lease of said subject property either by auction or
sealed bid, and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the publie interest
will not be served by public auction or 5ealp~ bid but that the
pUblic interest will be served by a temporary use permit gr~nted
to Leonard Ross, d/b/a Ross Tfpholstery,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCiL
OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA:
Section 1. That it is in the public interest to grant
a temporary use permit to Leonard Ross, d/b/a Ross Upholst~ry,
all provisions with reference to public advertisement for lease
of the property are hereby declared to be not i~ the public
interest.
Section 2. That the City Manag~r is ~uthorized and
directed to execute this agreement in accordance with the
ordinances of the City of Seward and substantially in accordance
with the temporary use permit attached hereto. and to do all
things necessary to consummate said agreement, and the proper
city officials are authorized and directed to execute the same.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective
and such permit may be executed on the date of passage and
approval.
PASSED AND APPROl~ by the City Council of the City
of Seward, Alaska, this day of April, 1971.
