HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1971-826 r CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 826 ~JHEREAS, the United States De?artment of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service, has scheduled a public hearing con- cerning a wilderness proposal within the Kenai National Moose RangG, and WHEREAS, this public hearing has been called in Anchorage, Alaska, and WHEREAS, the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, has solicited comments regarding the establishment of a National Recreation Area on the Kenai Peninsula, and WHEREAS, both of these proposals will have long-term effects on the Seward area, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that both the Forest Service and the Fish and Wildlife Service be requested to hold public hearings in Seward, either jointly or independently, in order to gather testimony from residents of this area, and ' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, strongly endorses the extension of these public hearings to other municipalities on the Kenai Peninsula.
