CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
ORDINANCE NO. 96-25
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE CITY'S ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGE CODE TO CONFORM TO STATE LAW
WHEREAS, a review of the City's alcoholic beverage code, Chapter 8.05 of the Seward
City Code, revealed some sections in conflict with applicable state law; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of this ordinance to revise the City Code to reflect those state
requirements which supersede City ordinances with respect to the sale and consumption of alcoholic
beverages;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
HEREBY ORDAINS that:
Section 1. Seward City Code Section 8.05.035, Sales, etc., to certain persons prohibited, is
hereby amended by deleting the word "nineteen" and inserting in its place the word "twenty-one".
Section 2. Seward City Code Section 8.05.055, Signs prohibiting presence of minors, is
hereby amended by deleting the word "nineteen" and inserting in its place the word "twenty-one".
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment.
ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this
26th day of August, 1996.
