P. is actively seeking the establishment of local program priorities, and WHEREAS, the City of Seward is acutely aware of the need for immediate and long-range solutions to local needs, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, that the following priorities are established: SEWARD AIRPORT - 1. Request feasibility study for up- grading of facility. 2. Pave and add electronic instrumentation. 3. Explore subsidy for daily air service. Resurrection Bay 1. Link Seward to Southeast Alaska via Marine Highway System. 2. Add regular van or cargo ship service. 3. Add train slip for handling rail cars. 4. Expand present boat harbor. 5. Add marine railway ship repair facility. 6. Rebuild and improve 4th Avenue Dock. Roads & Highways 1. Complete Resurrection River Road 2. Improve & maintain Lowell Point Road. 3. Extend Lowell Point Road to Caines Head. 4. Establish local transfortation corridor concept between Caine sHead & Homer. 5. Extend Alaska Railroad to West Side of the Kenai Peninsula. This Resolution is effective on the date of its passage and approval. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 28th day of February, 1972. /s/ R. F. Richardson R.
