City Clerk-Treasurer WHEREAS, Alaska is anticipating an increase in the number of tourists visiting the State in the year ahead, and WHEREAS, Seward was visited by approximately 20,000 out-of- state tourists last year, and WHEREAS, the CC~lffiunity is expecting to continue to develop the local economy for the benefit of resident and visitor alike, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that City Manager James R. Filip is hereby authorized to expend funds r.ot to exceed $4,200.00 for the purchsse of audio-visual equipment which will be used as an out-reach program of the City of Seward for the promotion of Tourism and Economic Development, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said James R. Filip will pre- pare t';-70 audio-visual pr.Jgra~s which will be shown during the year at City Hall or wherever the Council shall direct, that an admission charge of $1.00 will be made to ultimate- ly recover the cost of the equipment, and that in exchange for the preparation and research of the program material which is recognized to be an expansion of the duties and resp~nsibilities of the City Manager, it is agreed that said James R. Filip will receive twenty-five per cent(25%) of the gross admissions realized from the exhibition of all audio-visual programs prepared or exhibited in connect- ion with this program while said City Manager is employed by the City.
