CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2003-044
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A PASS-
THROUGH GRANT FROM THE ALASKA STATE HOSPITAL AND
NURSING HOME ASSOCIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,200 TO
NETWORK COMPUTER INFRASTRUCTURE BETWEEN THE
PROVIDENCE SEWARD MEDICAL CENTER AND PROVIDENCE
WESLEY CARE CENTER FACILITIES, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, Providence Seward Medical Center has been awarded a grant in the amount
of $1 0,200 from the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the grant is to provide connectivity between the acute care
hospital and the long-term care facility for networking computers, communications systems, and
to meet HIP AA requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward will pass the funds through directly to the co-located
hospital facility for payment to the contractor .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept a grant in the amount of $10,200
from the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association to pass-thru grant account no.
890-8904-4680-0900.
Section 2. Funds in the amount of$10,200 are hereby appropriated to pass-thru grant
contracted services account no. 890-8904-5390.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe City of Seward, Alaska, this 28th
day of April, 2003.
