RESOLtrl'ION NO. 874
\-:HEREAS, it is necessary to take ,an active effort in the
removal of trash and debris from the community, and
~HEREAS, this effort requires the participation of all
residents who are able to care for their property, and
l':HEREAS, the Month of May is suitable for this annual
concentrated assualt on the accumulated filth which
the melting snows reveal, and
\iHEREAS, inoperable automobiles and trucLs are a partic-
ular nuisance in Seward)
NOH) THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Seward, Alaska, that the Month of ~~y is hereby
declared to be HCLEANER SE\'JARD MONTH'; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLV1D that particular attention is call-
ed to those who harbor or teep junked or inoperable auto-
mobiles, trucks or heavy machinery to have them removed
during this month in order to preserve the natural beauty
which abounds in this area but ~mich is marred by the un-
sightly residue which threatens to engulf us.
This Resolution takes effect immediately upon approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Seward, Alaska, this 23rd day of April, 1973.
