THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 888
WHEREAS. The City of Seward, Alaska, O~qnS and operates
a television tr&nslator serving the residents of the
municipality; <:::1d
WHEREAS, this public service must rely on voluntary
contributions f~cill ~rea residents; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to permit volun-
tary contribution3 to be received for this purpose in
connection ,;ith the monthly bills rendered to customers
by the Public Utility;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of
the City of Seward, Ale.ska, that the City Manager is
authorized ~~d directed to place an additional charge
of $2.00 per utility account on each bill rendered by
the Public Utility for the purpose of establishing a
fund for tb:l cC:-ltinuatioll of teb:'7ision service to
Seward l1nd fnrrc'.1nding nreas if feasible.
BE IT FURTHEr, RESOLVED that certain exemptions or ex-
clusions ,,7111 be permitted as follows:
Exemption A - Goverr~ent Utility Accounts*
Ey.e~pti8n B - Non-users*
Exclusion C - Reasonable Cause*
*notari2~d certificate required in each
authorized or requested Exemption or
Exclusion.
BE IT FU?,TZBR rrE~OL~ED that municipal records kept in
conjunction ~;ith tl1f-S service shall be public records
open t,:) i:u::-;:~ctic:1. d'.1ring regular bmdness hours by
any indivic!-~n~ -;~i.th~,~t being required to give a rea-
son for c"'J.c11 l.~lf,pcct~cn.
