C. ELECTRIC" TO MOUNT AND WIRE 80 RV ELECTRICAL PEDESTALS IN THE WATERFRONT PARK, RESURRECTION SECTION FOR A PRICE OF $22,890.00 WHEREAS, the City of Seward has issued a Request for Proposal's to mount, and connect with electrical wiring, 80 RV electrical pedestals; and WHEREAS, three Companies (A.C. Electric, Service Electric and Hotwire Electric) responded to our RFP; and WHEREAS, A.c. Electric has provided the low proposal of $22,890; and WHEREAS, this company has been deemed to be the lowest qualified and responsive proposer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. A.c. Electric is selected as the successful contractor to install 80 RV electrical pedestals and wiring from the service to the pedestal, including the main service, at a price of$22,890. Section 2. (City Seal) COUNCIL AGENDA STATEMENT Meeting Date: May 12, 2003 Through: Kris Erchinger, Acting City Manager From: Dave Calvert, Manager, Electric Utility Agenda Item: Additional Electrical Connections at Waterfront Park - Resurrection Section BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION: Council has previouslyauthorized $80,000 in the budget to install electrical and water connections for an additional 80 campground sites in Waterfront Park, Resurrection Section. As part of this installation, the Electric Department has installed the primary facilities, including a transformer, and issued an RFP for the electrical wiring from the transformer to the individual RVconnections.This part of the system, beyond the meter, must be installed by an Electrician, not by Linemen. The City has purchased the material, including the RV Pedestals and the posts to mount them on, and will do the ditching required for the wiring and the water line installation. We received three responses to our RFP which are: Hotwire Electric $160,000.00 $2000.00/Space A.C. Electric $22,890.00 $286.13/Space Service Electric $32,000.00 $400.00/Space The Parks and Recreation Department has spent approximately $17,500 to date on materials ($8,500 for electrical pedestals, $3,000 for mounting posts for the water and electric connections, and $6,000 for the Electrical primary installation).The remaining costs are for installing the water lines and connections at each space and the labor & materials to mount and wire the pedestals. Electric to install the services to 80 RV sites in Waterfront Park at a cost of $22,890. Funding has been budgeted in Account 101-1400-5925. . ????? 2
