A RESOLUTION exerclslng powers related to navigation and requesting
the Corps of Engineers to undertake a Section 107 Study Project for
assessing deep draft vessel needs.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward, Alaska has need for additional deep draft
vessel facilities, and
vffiEREAS, the City of Seward presently owns a sub-standard facility
which has potential for expansion,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of
Seward exercises its power to provide for deep draft vessel facilities
as provided in Section 29.48.030 (A) (3), of the Alaska State Statutes,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager's letter to the Alaska
District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, requesting a Section 107
Reconnaissance Study and outlining the acceptance of the responsibility
by the City for the participation of the municipality if feasible and
possible, is hereby authorized.
