CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 77-5
A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH OFFICIAL POPULATION
OF THE CITY OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, it is necessary that an official determination of the
population of the City of Seward be arrived at for use in various estimated
reports, brochures, for State and Federal revenue sharing, for dues to
Alaska Municipal League, and other purposes; and
WHEREAS, population estimates as of July 1, 1976, have been
prepared by the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Department of Planning and the
Department of Finance, in conjunction with the University of Alaska,
Anchorage Urban Observatory, based on the report of November 10, 1976,
of population and demographic characteristics of the five first class
cities, and the related housing and employment characteristics of those
cities, coupled with the latest certified voter registration; and
at 2159;
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Seward was estimated
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that the City does hereby accept the estimate of
population of 2159 as the official population of the City of Seward for
all purposes until such time as continued research and enumeration shall
indicate a modification of that figure.
