CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 77-14
A RESOLUTION SETTING THE TERM OF OFFICE AND COMPENSATION
FOR CITY MANAGER CLARENCE E. JOHNSON
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, at a
special meeting held January 5, 1977, by unanimous vote appointed Clarence
E. Johnson as City Manager, subject to a three month probationary period, and
WHEREAS, the three month probationary period expired April 6, 1977,
and a review of the City Manager's performance was conducted during an executive
session of Council on March 29, 1977;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that Mr. Clarence E. Johnson's permanent appointment as City
Manager of the City of Seward, Alaska, effective April 6, 1977, is confirmed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that both parties are hereby agreeing to
give the other party thirty days' written notice before termination.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Clarence E. Johnson shall perform, or
provide for performance of, all of the duties of said office as described
in Section 5.4 of the Seward Home Rule Charter, Section 2-38 through 2-43 of
the Seward City Code (Ordinance No. 349 82.101), and as otherwise required by
law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Clarence E. Johnson shall be compensated
at the rate of $3025 per month, in lieu of the City's retirement benefits which
are not available to him.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Clarence E. Johnson shall be reimbursed
for moving expenses in the amount of $923.67.
