CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 77-15
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONTINUANCE OF SEWARD
AS THE HOME PORT FOR THE M/V TUSTUMENA
WHEREAS, the Alaska State Ferry System's M/V TUSTUMENA, with
Seward as its base of operations, presently employs 55 employees, and
WHEREAS, 23 employees of the M/V TUSTUMENA are property owners
in the Seward area, contributing to the local economy, and
WHEREAS, the total annual payroll for the M/V TUSTUMENA is
$1,602,000, much of which is spent in the Seward area;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Seward, Alaska, heartily supports the continuance of Seward as the home
port for the Alaska State Ferry System's M/V TUSTUMENA.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 11th day of April , 1977.
