CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 77-16
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE
AN AGREEMENT WITH GENERAL TELEPHONE OF ALASKA
WHEREAS, General Telephone of Alaska wishes to install a telephone
cable between Adams and Van Buren Streets, and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has a pre-existing easement which
extends over a portion of that area, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has no objection to the placing of
that telephone cable within the City's utility easement, on the condition
that the City is held harmless from all claims arising out of the installa-
tion and maintenance of the cable, and that the installation not interfere
with or damage existing utility lines within the easement area;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Seward, Alaska, that the City Manager is hereby authorizied and directed
to negotiate an agreement with General Telephone of Alaska, in substantially
the form set forth in the attached Exhibit "A", to allow the construction
of a telephone cable in the City's utility easement between Adams and Van
Buren Streets.
