HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1982-030 r I I I 5/24/82 BMB/rsa CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 82-30 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL PARK UTILITIES, 4TH OF JULY CREEK TRANSMISSION LINE, TO POWER TWO, A JOINT VENTURE. WHEREAS, the construction of Seward Marine Industrial Park utilities, 4th of July Creek Transmission Line, a part of Phase III of the continuing construction of the Seward Harine Industrial Park, was advertised for public bid, and WHEREAS, construction of the electric utility service is a necessary precondition to certain obligations of lessees on Ci ty land leased at 4th of July Creek: and those obI igations include construction of facilities and expenditures of funds which will generate jobs for citizens of Seward and stimulate the economy generally, and WHEREAS, funding for this project was accepted from the State of Alaska by the City of Seward in Resolution No. 82-4, and WHEREAS, bids were submitted by various contractors and were opened on May 13, 1982, and WHEREAS, Power City Construction, Inc., and Power Constructors, Inc., as Power Two, a Joint Venture (Power Two, J.V.), is apparent low bidder with a bid of TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY- SEVEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY-TWO AND 51/100 DOLLARS ($277,792.51), and WHEREAS, engineers employed by the City of Seward have reviewed the bid documents submitted by the bidders and have recommended that the bid be awarded to Power Two, J.V.: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: section 1. An award of the contract for the Seward Marine Industrial Park Site utilities, 4th of July Creek Transmission Line, is hereby made to Power Two, J.V., for a price not to exceed TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY-~10 AND 51/100 DOLLARS ($277,792.51). Sect ion 2. The Ci ty Manager is au thor i zed and instructed to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Seward, Alaska, with Power Two, J.V., in accordance with the bid documents. -1- r I !
