HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1982-039 r 5/10/82 FBA/rsa CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 82-39 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SEWARD, ALASKA, REGARDING SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE SEWARD SEWER INTERCEPTOR AND WASTE WATER TREAT~1ENT FACII,ITIES PROJECT. WHEREAS, the design and construction of the Seward Sewer Interceptor and Waste Water Treatment Facilities Project has been partially funded by the Environmental Protection Agency, and WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Environmental Conservation has acted as the construction grants manager for the project, and WHEREAS, the project's total cost has exceeded Six Million Dollars ($6,000,000.00) and represents the installation and construction of a major sewage treatment facility, interceptor lines, pump stations, and other complicated and difficult systems, and WHEREAS, unexpected delays have been caused by factors beyond the City's reasonable control, and WHEREAS, problems in the project that have arisen have been resolved by the parties including the construction company and the City's engineer, and WHEREAS, none of these resolutions nor completion of the project for less than the grant would have been possible without the personal assistance of personnel of the Department of Conservation of the State of Alaska, and the successful amounts budget attention and Environmental WHEREAS, Mr. Jeep Reid, and Mr. Anchorage office of the Department of have been of great assistance to contractor, and its engineers in completion of the project, and Greg MaGee of the local Environmental Conservation, the City of Seward, its seeing to the successful WHEREAS, Mr. Kelton in Juneau, Alaska, has ma intained a close working relationship with employees of his Anchorage office and in turn with the City of Seward and has made possible the flexibility and ability to make difficult decisions without unnecessary delays. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: The City of Seward, Alaska, expresses its appreciation for the public service of the above-named individuals and the State -1- t I I I I I CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA . RESOLUTION NO. 82-39 of Alaska, Department of Environmental Conservation as a whole for the successful completion of the Seward Sewage Interceptor and Waste Water Treatment Facilities Project at a cost less than that originally anticipated and in a timely fashion.
