CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2003-70
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF A SPECIAL SERVICES
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SEWARD AND THE DEPART-
MENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY PROVIDING DISPATCH AND CLERICAL
SERVICES TO PUBLIC SAFETY EMPLOYEES IN THE SEWARD AREA
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has entered into an agreement for the past eight fiscal years
to provide dispatch and clerical services to Alaska State Troopers and Fish and Wildlife Protection
Officers in the Seward Community; and
WHEREAS, the amount of compensation for that has been $48,500; and
WHEREAS, the attached extension would continue the services at the previous rate through
June 30, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward hereby approves Resolution 2003-70, authorizing the
extension of a Special Services contract between the City of Seward and the Department of Public
Safety providing dispatch and clerical services to Public Safety Employees in the Seward area.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 14th
day of July, 2003.

Agenda Item: Extension of Special Services Contract between
the Department o Public Safety and the City of Seward
BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION:
The City of Seward has entered into an agreement for the past eight fiscal years to provide
dispatch and clerical services to the Alaska State Troopers and Fish and Wildlife Protection
Officers in the Seward Community. The amount of compensation for that contract has
been $48,500. The attached extension would continue the services at the previous rate
through June 30, 2004.

FISCAL NOTE:
The City of Seward will receive the sum of $48,500 from the State of Alaska for this
contract. The money from the contract is part of the fiscal six month 2003 and the year
2004 budget. Therefore it is already included in the upcoming budget proposals.
