CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 77-26
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE
DIFFERENTIAL TAX RATE FOR ZONE TWO
AS DESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE NO. 429
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 429 created two municipal service areas
designated as Zone One and Zone Two, Zone Two being described as:
Section 35, Township 1 North, Range 1 West;
Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14, Township 1
South, Range 1 West; and Sections 7, 8, 9,
16, 17, 18, Township 1 South, Range 1 East;
Seward Meridian
and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 429 further states a differential tax rate
shall be levied in each zone, that rate to be directly related to the esti-
mated cost of services provided in that zone, and
IVHEREAS, Zone Two does not receive City sewer service, water service
and fire protection, estimated by the administration to be approximately 30
percent fewer services than those received by Zone One, and
WHEREAS, the mill rate for Zone One for. fiscal year 1977-78 has been
set at 18 mills by Resolution No. 77-18;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Seward, Alaska, that the mill rate for fiscal year 1977-78 for Zone Two is
hereby set at 12 mills.
