CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 77-34
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO APPLY FOR LPW GRANT FUKOS IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000
TO ASSIST IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CONSTANT PRESSURE PUMP STATION
WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough has received $670,000 in
planning target funds under the Local Public Works (LPW) Program administered
by the Economic Development Administration (EDA), and
WHEREAS, the Assembly of the Kenai Peninsula Borough has endorsed
$50,000 of the PLW planning target funds to the City of Seward to aid con-
struction of a constant pressure pump station, and
WHEREAS, the constant pressure pump station is necessitated by
service requirements for the new Borough high school in Seward, and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula Borough have
committed the funds necessary to undertake the local share portion of the
project;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Seward, Alaska, does hereby authorize the City Manager to make application to
the EDA for the $50,000 in LPW funds.
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Seward accepts the
funds committed by the State of Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula Borough for
the local share portion of the project; such funds amounting to $76,000,
for a total project cost of $126,000.
