HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1978-002 r 1/24/78 RHJ:vmo CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 78-2 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED CONVEYING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO THE STATE OF ALASKA FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN ALCOHOL TREATMENT AND/OR MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT CENTER WITHIN THE CITY OF SEWARD WHEREAS, the City of Seward is the owner of property herein after described, and WHEREAS, the City of Seward is committed to the development of a alcohol treatment and/or mental health treatment center in Seward, and WHEREAS, the City has determined that the real property herein below described should be granted to the State of Alaska to assure the long term use of the property for alcOhol treatment and/or mental health treatment purposes, and WHEREAS, the City Council has further determined that the State of Alaska should allow the Seward Council on Alcoholism and Community Services to construct such a treatment facility on the property, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is not in the public interest to dispose of the land described below by public sale and that it is in the public interest that the land be conveyed to the State of Alaska for the purposes described above. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Seward that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a quit claim deed, a copy of which is attached hereto and in- corporated herein by reference, conveying to the State of Alaska the Citys interest in that certain real property situated in the Seward Recording District, Third Judicial District, State of Alaska, more particularly described as follows: Lots 3 and 4, Marathon Addition to Seward Townsite, Plat #19, as recorded on August 14, 1952, in the Seward Recording District less 20 feet along South Boundary. PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this 23rd day of January, 1978.
