CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 78-25
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO NEGOTIATE THE DISPOSITION OF REAL PROPERTY
IN THE JESSE LEE HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION
WHEREAS, the City of Seward is committed to the development of
additional housing for the elderly, and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 78-23 authorized the City Manager to
negotiate for the disposition of Lots 11, 12 and 13 of the Marathon
Addition for sale to the Alaska State Housing Authority for construction
of senior housing units, and
WHEREAS, the City owns real property located within the City
limits of Seward (hereinafter referred to as the "Property"), as shown on
the attached map and more particularly described as follows:
A parcel of land 100 feet by 219 feet in the
southeast corner of Tract A-lA, Jesse Lee
Heights Subdivision, Seward Recording District,
Third Judicial District, State of Alaska; and
WHEREAS, this Property is more suitable than that land designated
in Resolution No. 78-23 for the planned housing construction, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, hereby
finds that the Property has not been dedicated to any public use, and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that public sale of the
Property is not in the public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to negotiate the sale to the Alaska State Housing Authority of the Property
under conditions whereby the only consideration for which shall be the
construction by the Alaska State Housing Authority of not less than 24 housing
units for the elderly on or before the 1st day of August, 1979.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 5th day of June, 1978.
